Understanding how our lives affect the world around us is a crucial issue these days. Though the 'Carbon Neutral' lifestyle has gained a lot of attention lately, it takes time to understand how ideas like Global Warming, Emissions Footprints, and Carbon Offsets affect our environment.

Our goal at Goodbye Carbon is to consolidate and organize the wealth of information regarding these important - and complicated - issues while providing a Guide of the different companies dedicated to reducing and offsetting emissions (both co2 and other greenhouse gases).

While the Kyoto Protocol has made Offsetting mandatory in certain situations, the introduction of voluntary offset programs and related conservation efforts will affect us all. As governments and individuals prepare to reduce both our overall emissions and our reliance on fossil fuels, we hope to provide a valuable resource that will help you understand it all. The 21st Century will certainly be remembered as the "Green Century" and it is important to know how this will affect our daily lives.

Along with helping you understand how all these ideas work together make up this changing environmental (and political) climate, we also want to provide access to companies who are helping to make a physical difference. Our Carbon Offsets Directory gives a brief overview of companies who sponsor and run Sequestration, Reforestation, and Alternative Energy projects around the world. By helping fund these projects, you can help reduce, or even erase, your own negative impact on the environment.
