Drive Carbon Neutral - Offset Cars, Trucks, SUVs

The average American car is driven 13,000 miles each year. Chances are, you own one of those cars. If so, your co2 emissions probably total between 8,000 and 20,000 pounds yearly - depending on the type of car you drive. Multiply that by the 200 million+ drivers in America , and you have an enormous amount of additional co2 in the atmosphere.

Personal offsets were initially based on the idea of offsetting our extensive driving habits. An Offset Provider would take the total miles driven and divide that by the miles-per-gallon rating (based on the car type) to figure out the approximate yearly emissions. This number can then be matched with a corresponding offset-generating Project to cancel out the effect that driving has on the environment.

Though offsets for cars are still quite common, other Offet Types have become common in recent years.
